I am curious, however. A search of the internet for the quote you used returns NO HITS. Remove the quotes, still no hits (for similar sayings). Remove the author, still no hits.

Calculate the time that goes into the time saving machine and the quantum effects must balance out to zero. The devices you mentioned may appear to save time for the end user but fail to include the time to research/ develop/ produce the fuel/ transportation etc. etc. Also the time for all the parts to be created. The universe is in each thing. Time and space are only man's narrow way of interpreting quantum reality. (Hindu view of reality).

This is interesting. About 5 years ago, the CEO of the company my wife worked for handed out a report called, "Dust to Dust" which was done by a Marketing Research Company by the name of CNW Marketing Research. I would post a link to it, but it seems not to be available on the internet anymore.

What they did was researched the total amount of energy used from inception to the grave yard of every car ever made. They factored in all of the costs associated with making the car in the first place, such as the amount of energy the workers used driving back and forth to the factory, energy used in extracting the materials from the ground, and so on. In this model, gas mileage was just one small factor since they weren't only concerned about the period during the life of the car, but rather from "the drawing board" to the car's ultimate end in the junk yards.

It was an astonishing list. In the first rendition, the Hummer beat the Prius. As you can imagine, the Left became unglued at such a finding and started to viciously attack the messenger. A few years later, they did it again, with pretty much the same results.

CNW itself had no ax to grind, they weren't commissioned by anyone to do the research in the first place, and they told no one about it while it was going on, to avoid being pressured by external forces. It was quite remarkable.

It turned out my 5.0 Mustang was pretty damn high on the list of efficiency. LOL

Those who have a hidden agenda always respond this way to actual inquiry. Data leads to knowledge and knowledge leads to understanding. Those who favor big government and big science understand this and work overtime to keep (certain categories of) data to a minimum.

*** (an anecdote)

I had a 70 Mustang with a 351. It was the Windsor 351, not the Cleveland.

On paper the Cleveland was vastly superior.

But out in the real world I could run circles around most Cleveland equipped Fords, even with my puny 2 barrel carb and single exhaust. (It was a very sweet ride.) And I could even beat my roommate's 400 cube GTO because I was a better driver. (He was p*ss*d.)

And, I regularly got 21 mpg while cruising at 85 mph. With modern fuel injection and computers it might have been capable of 30 or more. But we will never know. Those who "know better" prevented the experiments (at gun point).

The Hindu view of reality is one of many. Quantum BS is another. Classical physics is another. Many more have been posited in the past, and many more will be in the future.

Each has (or will have) some useful aspects. Each can be said to offer some insight into the nature of nature.

No words or ideas are "right." Some may come closer to pointing at what reality (what appears to exist) may or may not be or some combination or transcendence of etc. If Quantum is B.S. how did people come up with the hologram/ laser/ computer chip/ transister/ LED light/ Vacuum tube etc?
