Here is another "face from the chasmas" in PSP 006177 1725. This one tends to be more pareidolic than others (based on my model) but viewed from a distance it comes together as a familiar human-like face.

In the close-ups the face is lost in the typical layering of the West Candor Chasma floor. There is one interesting detail though: an unusually smooth, reflective surface.

Here is the framed version.

And here's a key.

We've posted mainly MRO images in the past year, but there were over 200,000 MGS images released to the public between 1998 and 2006, many of which were suggestive of artificiality. Lest we forget them, here are some of my favorites among those which should be re-imaged by the MRO HiRISE camera. All are in the West Candor Chasma. [Neil]

Light and color enhances art on Mars. We can only guess what the original intentions of the artist were, at least until we get some better images

Here is Levasseur's Nefertiti Profile Image colorized and smoothed.

Here's a copy of a message I sent to the HiRISE feedback team.

It just dawned on me, the old Air Force Brass running NASA probably noticed this natural form that looks like the old WWII "Kilroy Was Here" cartoon and that's why they imaged the same co-ordinates an unprecedented 4 times, the latest of which is:

PSP_010027_1745

Unfortunately I can't attach pics here but here is the Image Hosting data so you can see.

(Unfortunately also, your program does not allow sending aych-tee-tee-pee in the Image Hosting data so if you want to see the pictures you will have to add it yourself in the appropriate place.)

Cheers,

Neil DeRosa

Neil, interesting stuff. I haven't studied this yet, but these appear to be links to your Kilroy find based on the information you gave:
