A body with such a thick atmosphere as Titan would probably experience weathering and erosion at a rate that would scour or bury any layer millions of years old, just as it has on Earth.
But maybe something about Titan's extremely low temperatures allowed partial preservation of tha black debris layer? -|Tom|-
