I don't think we can scale up on the universe and assume that our solar system is an atom in some larger creature because the solar system or our galaxy does not behave like an atom. We have have never observed a planet do a quantum change from one orbit to another and emit a super-photon from the system. To say there is structure at all scales does not demand that that structure is identical at all scales. There are some large differences between the way things behave at large and small scales.
Do you mean by "states of matter" a gas/liquid/solid phase? Or are saying something different than that? I suppose a 4th phase,plasma should be tossed in here too.
how would we classify 5th matter, I heard "Pure energy" tossed around. Plasma is interesting we as humans go off it, we have plasma in our blood. it may be possible that there is plasma in space for high energy states of stars.
