the photo eletric effect has to do with light, metals, and electricity? if so then what would the maximum light wave length be? maybe we can resolve that, that would be good to get information on from the rest of you<img src=icon_smile_shy.gif border=0 align=middle>

The photoelectric effect is the father of spectroscopy. Each element and compound bears a specific and unique spectrograph based on the effect that occurs when an energetic electron bombards an atom causing its electrons to jump to an excited state, when those electrons fall they release a specific quanta (hate this term cause it implies a particle) of light.
